| February 21, 2006 | DISCOUNT LIFT TICKETS |
| I've heard that many resorts offer discount lift tickets if you can prove that you own a home in Park City. I have found other discounts but I have not been able to find any discounts for "locals" on the web sites. Does anyone know about these discounts? Thanks. Pam Ryder | |
| February 23, 2006 | TICKETS - cont |
| Pam - most of the resorts have a "locals" pass program but you must sign up for them before season deadlines, usually 12/15. The earlier you sign up the better the discount you can receive. The first time you apply must be in person, you need to show proof of Utah residency or property ownership, usually a tax bill or utility bill will do. Park City Mountain Resort has the EZ Access Fast Tracks card that allows you to buy discounted packs of 10 passes per person, whatever you might not use is carried forward to next season. Deer Valley has a similar coupon book program, a 5 pack for an individual or a 10 pack that a couple can share. Canyons has something called the Cherry Picker pass. This summer be sure to apply and sign up at your favorite resort. Big savings. Once you are in the program you can get more passes during the year if you need them but you first must register into the program. Howie | |
| February 14, 2005 | CLUBHOUSE |
| I was just out to B. H. last week and used the clubhouse. Am curious... where are the other 2 t.v.'s in the workout room? Also, there was only one channel available on the remaining t.v., is that normal? Do we have internet access on the computer in the main room? I wanted to print out my boarding pass and couldn't get on-line or see that it's available. The clubhouse sure looks great tho! I was disappointed the snow removal on Cross Country Way wasn't very thorough... hard to back out of driveways. We were out in Dec. and had a great dinner @ the newly opened Ghidotti's in Redstone-Italian and great atmosphere! Pam | |
| February 21, 2006 | CLUBHOUSE -cont |
| Pam - the 2 TV's in the Exercise Room are mounted on the wall above the entry way. One TV was broken and had to be removed / replaced - You might have been there during the time of the removal. Both TV's are now working (I hope!). We have had recurring problems with the Club Room computer with viruses and web access. We are working on resolving these issues. Snow removal issues are being addressed as best possible. We have gotten a lot of snow lately. Great for skiing but trouble on the roads & driveways ! HOA has added extra services to our snow removal contract to address owner concerns. Thanks for comments on the Clubhouse appearance. regards, Howie | |
| January 15, 2006 | PET SITTING SERVICES |
| Howdy all - I am here for the winter in my townhome at 5553 Slalom Way. This will be my first winter here in Park City. I am from Chapel Hill, NC. I love it here and looking forward to enjoying the area. My reason for posting to find any pet sitting services to recommend. I have a dog and have to travel occassionaly for a few days at time. I picked this place for the convenience of the airport. She is a 1 yr labradoodle (bio-engineered mutt) named Roxanne. She loves people and the snow. Anyway, please email me with any suggestions. Thanks, look forward to meeting people in the neighborhood. Jeff Ottman jottman@yahoo.com All the wine thats fit to drink. | |
| December 18, 2005 | SUMMIT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS |
| At the 2005 Annual Meeting, the owners present requested info on how to contact the Summit County Commissioners to express viewpoints, etc. The information on how to contact the Commissioners can be found on the Summit County website, which is already linked to our HOA website. Go to the "LINKS" tab on the left side of our home page - then click on "Summit County" - then from the "Popular Pages" menu select "Directory" and then go to "Commission". You can then email the Commissioners directly or obtain other address or contact info for all the County Commissioners, For your info. Howie | |

| As per request of the owners present at the 2005 Annual Meeting, here is the contact info for the attorney assigned to represent all individual owners in the CraCar legal matter: DARREN K. | November 27, 2005 | Confusing Addresses |
| Is anyone else having problems with guests finding their unit? On Slalom Way the buildings on one side of the street are actually Lilliehammer addresses and the buildings on the other are Slalom addresses but there are a number of identical addresses on both sides of the street. Its really confusing. I'm wondering if this problem is only in this specific location or elsewhere. And, if so, what suggestions there are to help the situation. | |
| October 20, 2005 | Winter Shuttle Bus |
| As the ski season rapidly approaches, we are keenly interested in knowing if the shuttle will run thru the village this season. I understand the the condition of completing the construction has been met. Can you confirm the plan for shuttle. Inquiring guests want to know. thx | |
| November 8,2005 | Winter Shuttle Bus-cont |
| The following is excerpted from the coming Fall Newsletter: BUS SERVICE - there has been an unexpected setback in this area. The bus service providers are now advising they will not initiate service into Bear Hollow Village at this time. We are being considered a “seasonal service” need; their priority is to provide full time services. The bus service further advises they are running at a deficit and are therefore reluctant to expand services without a guarantee it will generate added revenues sufficient to cover added costs. Your Trustees have explored several options to bring bus service to the community, including: chartering our own shuttle bus; partnership with other communities in the immediate area for a combined shuttle; outreach to the ski resorts for interest in providing shuttle bus service for our residents/potential ski customers. None of these options have resulted in a viable option for us to pursue at this time. Costs to operate our own shuttle are estimated at $300-500. per day, depending on level of service, etc. Summit County and Park City authorities are reviewing the potential to provide a bus stop in the Kimball Junction area to service the surrounding population. A shuttle to this bus stop is an option, but in all honesty not a desirable one considering the costs involved and other factors. We are still working on other options but the prospects for a shuttle this winter season are poor. | |
| Oct 5, 2005 | Order of Messages |
| I was wondering if it would be a lot of work to display the "newer" messages at the top, instead of the "oldest" message. cheers from biathlon loop, benny [& becky]   Webmaster Comment: Done! | |
| August 11, 2005 | HOA Board |
| I'd just like to say thanks for the great job our HOA board does for us. Howie, Rich and the rest are doing a great service for everyone at Bear Hollow, continually working to reduce our dues and improve our development. They may be overpaid a bit, but we'll let that go... (they receive no stipend or salary for the great job they do for us!). THANKS AGAIN! Owner,BJ Ryder | |
| August 17,2005 | BHV HOA Board-cont |
| I just wanted to second the comment on the HOA board. My wife and I just purchased a townhouse in June and are so pleased with the organization and professionalism with the HOA. The website is great as is the addition of this message board. We were forced to sell our last place in PC due to the disorganization and lack of professionalism of its board. We owned it for less then a year and the dues went up 4 times and services were being taken away. I can't tell you how great it was to get our first dues bill and have it say our dues where going down again. Keep up the great work. Ted and Lori Powell | |
| August 9.2005 | Mailboxes |
| I have noticed that mailboxes are in and looks like almost complete, I was wondering when we can start receiving mail and how we go about getting keys? If I missed this information somewhere I apologize in advance. Karla | |
| August 10, 2005 | Mailboxes-2 |
| The mailbox kiosk building is essentially complete, boxes have been installed and Hamlet is working with the Postal Service to coordinate the finalization of 400 unit addresses with keys and arrange for their distribution. The postal service handles distribution of the keys so the timetable on distribution is not certain at this time. The HOA database of owners and their Bear Hollow street addresses has been provided to Hamlet to assist this process. | |
| September 24, 2005 | Mailboxes-3 |
| The mailbox kiosk is now fully completed and operational. Owners wanting to have their mail delivered to their box in the kiosk should contact the Postmaster at the Kimball Junction US Post Office to get their keys and transfer mail service to their assigned box in the kiosk. NOTE - the mailbox kiosk building is located off Bobsled Blvd. across from the Village Green area. The Kimball Junction US Post Office is located across Rt. 224 in the shopping area between Smiths and World Imports. Howie | |
| July 21, 2005 | Property Taxes-1 |
| I bought my unit late last year and paid 2004 Property Tax as part of closing. I haven't gotten a property tax bill yet for 2005. How is property tax paid? annually? quarterly? Are any other new homeowners having the same problem? Who do I contact to make sure I'm not delinquent? Tom | |
| July 24, 2005 | Property Taxes-2 |
| Property taxes are paid annually in Summit County. In previous years, statements have been sent out around late August to September. You should contact the Summit County offices @ 615-3200 if you have any questions. Jody | |
| July 20,2005 | Local Restaurants |
| Everyone knows about the outstanding restaurants in Park City, but did you know that there are some quite good restaurants very close to Bear Hollow? Here's a couple that we've found to be good enough to warrant revisiting: 1. Nick's Greek Cafe (Across the street from Smith's supermarket on Sagewood Dr) Friendly staff; reasonably priced Greek food; we particularly enjoyed the retsina Greek wine. 2. Szechwan Chinese Kitchen (between Liquor Store and Mexican restaurant) Good, but a little pricy Chinese food either eat in or take out. Tom & Marian | |
